Find a teapot for the way you brew.
Glass teapots like the Lyra Glass Teapot 37oz, with its tall stainless steel infuser, and the smaller Pyxis Glass Teapot 20oz let you watch the leaves unfurl. Porcelain teapots like the Pluto Porcelain Teapot 18.2oz and Daze Porcelain Teapot 44oz keep tea warm and do not absorb flavours.
For bigger batches, the Glass Teapot & Kettle 60oz is stovetop safe on gas and electric, so it heats water and serves hot, iced or cold-brewed tea. Pair your teapot with tea cups and mugs.
Allow about 250 ml per cup. A teapot of 16 to 20 oz (470 to 590 ml) serves one or two people, 30 to 40 oz (890 to 1180 ml) suits three or four, and 60 oz (1770 ml) is good for a family or a pitcher of iced tea.
Only if it is made for it. The Lyra Glass Teapot and the Glass Teapot & Kettle 60 oz (1770 ml) are stovetop safe on gas and electric. Check each product page before heating a teapot directly.
An infuser lets you lift the leaves out when the tea is ready, so later cups don't turn bitter. It is the easiest choice for loose leaf tea. Without one, pour all the tea off the leaves through a strainer.
Fill it with warm water and a tablespoon of baking soda, let it sit for an hour, then rinse. Avoid harsh scrubbers on glass and porcelain.
