Description
Purple White – Rare Purple Cultivar White Tea from YunnanPurple White is a rare tea grown on Mt. Buddha Lotus in Pu'er, Yunnan Province. It's picked from "Purple Cultivar" tea trees, known for their unique purple-toned buds. While tea buds are usually green, these contain a surprising level of anthocyanins — naturally occurring plant pigments also found in foods like blueberries — giving the leaf a purple-like tone and a unique taste. Our Purple White is lightly oxidized (15%) and slowly dried under a roof to draw out its unique floral flavor profile. The dry leaf is a mix of whole and wiry leaves that release a delicate, sweet, almost blueberry-like fragrance. Once steeped, it releases a brownish-purple liquor with a refreshing, light aroma.
