Are herbal teas caffeine-free?
Most are, because they contain no leaves from the tea plant. A few blends include green tea, yerba mate or other caffeinated ingredients, so check the ingredient list on each product page.
How do I brew herbal tea?
Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per 250 ml cup and freshly boiled water. Herbal teas need longer than true teas: steep 5 to 7 minutes, and up to 10 for roots, seeds and dried fruit.
Can I make iced tea with herbal blends?
Yes. Brew double strength, then pour over ice, or cold brew 2 to 3 teaspoons per 250 ml of cold water in the fridge for 8 to 12 hours. Fruity and hibiscus blends are especially good iced.
What is the difference between herbal tea and tisane?
Nothing: they are two names for the same thing. Strictly speaking, tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, so infusions of other plants are called tisanes or herbal infusions.
