"Orange Pekoe, " or "OP, " refers not to the tea plant or flavor, but to the grade of leaf: young leaves of uniform size, picked just as the tip begins to open. The tea plantations of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) are synonymous with some of the world's most famous black teas, and Ceylon tea is revered across the Western world for its robust, unmistakably aromatic flavor.
