Description
Jasmine Yellow Tea – Rare Chinese Yellow Tea with JasmineJasmine Yellow Tea brings together two Chinese tea traditions: rare yellow tea and the sweet, floral perfume of jasmine. The result is a mellow, buttery cup with a soft jasmine bouquet and a lingering sweet aftertaste. Don't be surprised by the long, twisted dark leaves with golden tips: this is how our yellow tea looks before it unfurls in the pot. Taste and Aroma
Origin and CraftYellow tea is made only in China and is one of the rarest tea types. It starts like green tea, then the warm, damp leaves are wrapped and left to slowly “yellow” before the final drying. This extra step softens the leaf and brings out sweetness and mellowness. The tea is then scented with jasmine, adding a delicate floral layer to the smooth base. How to Brew
Iced or cold brew: steep 2 teaspoons in 16 oz / 500 ml of cool water in the fridge for 6-8 hours, then strain. Or brew it hot at double strength and pour over ice. Good to know: as a true tea from the tea plant, Jasmine Yellow Tea contains caffeine, usually a moderate amount similar to green tea. |
