Green Rooibos – Light, Caffeine-Free Unoxidized Rooibos

Red rooibos has grown hugely in popularity in recent years, but we'd love to introduce you to Green Rooibos! Grown in South Africa, it's made from the same plant as traditional red rooibos, but it's left unoxidized — similar to how green tea is made from the same plant as black tea.

Because it's unoxidized, green rooibos is more demanding to produce, which makes it a little pricier than red rooibos. The reward is a lighter, fresher tea that preserves the plant's natural goodness at its peak. It's naturally caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants, making it a wonderful herbal choice for any time of day.

Tasting Notes

  • Liquor: light golden
  • Aroma: fresh and slightly grassy
  • Flavor: very light, with a gentle grassy note
  • Accents: a subtle minty undertone
  • Finish: clean, smooth and refreshing

Why You'll Love It

Green Rooibos is quite different from traditional red rooibos — lighter, fresher and more delicate. It's naturally caffeine-free and low in tannins, so it's never bitter, making it a lovely alternative to green tea for evenings or caffeine-sensitive tea lovers.

  • Unoxidized South African rooibos
  • Naturally caffeine-free
  • Rich in antioxidants
  • Light, grassy and gently minty

How to Enjoy

Enjoy it plain for a delicate, soothing cup, or add a touch of honey and a slice of lemon. It's lovely iced and makes a great base for your own herbal blends with mint, citrus or fruit.

Light, fresh and naturally caffeine-free, Green Rooibos is a gentle discovery for herbal tea lovers.

My first time tasting green rooibos. What a pleasant surprise! It has a subtle buttery, nutty flavor.

Please please always carry this green rooibos tea. This s the ONLY place I can buy a great quality tea and this is the ONLY tea I am drinking n the morning on empty stomach. And as I do not drink caffeinated drinks, this is a great option that I will always keep buying from this site. When it comes to brewing, I usually put more rooibos for my 1st cup and then can do 2nd one as well later. It's a delicate taste and I really really love it!

I didn't think I'd like this as I dont like green tea. To me it tastes very similar to a first flush darjeeling without the astringency. Light and refreshing was pleasantly surprised, will be buying more in the future.

A great classic rooibos. I always come back to this tea. The green rooibos has more of a 'grass' taste, whereas the red rooibos has more fruit undertones. I personally prefer green rooibos, but this also depends on what I am in the mood for!
